Answers

1. What facilities will be in the new Club?

The goal is to offer state of the art services and facilities to meet the new needs of the current Membership and the changing needs of Members well into the 21st century.

In summary:

  • An overall increase in space of approximately 30% to offer new services and expand areas with high levels of demand
  • Significantly increased parking
  • A rooftop pool
  • A Day Spa, offering Swedish massage, shiatsu and hot stone therapy plus facials, pedicures, manicures and more
  • A full-sized gymnasium that will allow for multiple activities at the same time
  • A much larger family restaurant area offering 6-8 different cuisines
  • An exclusive adult area to allow for formal functions and business meetings

The Long Range Planning Committee (LRPC) and various other committees, in conjunction with architects Pelli Clarke Pelli, continue to discuss the range of potential services and facilities for the new Club.

Please see the Design Concepts in the Azabudai section of this site for a more complete look at what could make up the Club of the future - please remember that these are only design concepts and subject to more discussion and Member input.

4. What will the new condominiums be like? Will residents have access to Club facilities?

While the exact size and placement of the condominium building are still being determined, it will be composed of 160 premier units in an approximately 12 story complex above ground level, about the same as the Azabu Towers complex adjacent to the current facility.

The building will have its own pedestrian entrance and driveway, and residents will not have any direct access to the Club, nor will occupants of the condominium have any special rights to use the Club. In order to ensure that the condominium fits into the Club’s overall look, the exterior of the condominium will be determined by the Club’s architects. Please refer to the project booklet, which is available for download on this site, for further detail.

The Condominiums are being sold by Redevelopment partners Mitsubishi Estate Co. and the Club has no involvement or influence over the purchasing terms, process or price. The Club’s Redevelopment team has negotiated a pre-public offering for Club Members with Mitsubishi Estate Co. and this will likely take place one month prior to the general public offering. We will be sure to keep Members informed of relevant details.
