The floor plans and exterior for the Club at Takanawa have been finalized and approved by the LRPC and Board of Governors, while the interior areas are under development. The goal is a warm theme throughout and to this end the Club will continue to use most of the existing furniture, providing familiarity for Members at the new location from Day One.
A great deal of progress has been made on the design of the new Club at Azabudai and by mid-July the basic framework will be completed – a key milestone. The design for the interior is advancing and by the end of the year an overall image for the new Club in 2010 will be in place.
The Long Range Planning Committee recently endorsed the most current plans for the new Club presented by Pelli Clarke Pelli, pending a number of revisions, mainly in parking. In another major step forward, the committee has also approved the appointment of Pelli Clarke Pelli to manage the design of the Food & Beverage areas of the new Club.
