The Premier International Club in Asia
Only in Japan! The new facility at Takanawa is taking shape with amazing speed. As you can see from the latest pictures (available here), from a greenfield site on May 9 we now have the entire framework for the building in place, with placement of the outside walls to begin soon.
Even as we prepare for the move to Takanawa at year-end, work is also picking up pace on the new Club at Azabudai for our Grand Opening in 2010. Design schemes, an important step in pricing out the eventual construction, will soon be agreed. This will allow for the beginning of design development under the leadership of our architects Pelli Clarke Pelli.
The Long Range Planning Committee has meanwhile signed off on the parking configuration for the new facility at Azabudai, which will be able to accommodate 220 cars, a vast improvement from the 74 we can currently handle in our main lot.
In other parts of the Redevelopment Project, management is finalizing negotiations with potential off-site reciprocal facilities and will be forwarding its recommendations to the appropriate committees for approval, which is expected in September or October. We know this is an important feature for many people while the Club is relocated to Takanawa and we will be sure to keep everyone informed when sign-off is obtained.
As always, let us know your comments and questions at 2010feedback@tac-club.org.
