There was no summer lull for the Redevelopment Project, with construction at Takanawa keeping to its tight deadlines and design development for the new Club at Azabudai now under way.

The Takanawa facility is making excellent progress, with the building's outside walls now going up, mechanical and electrical systems being put in place and excavation for the pool taking place. There has also been approval for an additional amenity: the hair salon/barbershop will be located onsite, on the second floor of the building.

Architects Pelli Clarke Pelli, along with our Redevelopment partners Mitsubishi and Takenaka, are meanwhile finalizing plans for the important external design at Azabudai. Members will be able to get a full look when the plans are finalized, around December.

Many Members have been asking about reciprocal facilities for use while the Club is temporarily at Takanawa. We're glad to report that negotiations with a number of dining and fitness facilities have been completed, and these proposals will soon be going to the relevant Member committees for approval. When the signoffs are obtained, we will be sure to share the details with everyone.
