The Premier International Club in Asia

November, 2007

It’s full steam ahead for the Club’s move to Takanawa, with everything on schedule and progressing according to plan. The facility is approaching 90-percent completion and the construction crew is currently focused on the interior of the building, such as laying carpet and installing light fixtures. The site will be substantially complete by December 15 to allow for all the required contractor, government authority and Club inspections before the handover on December 27.

For an idea of the scale of the project, up to 250 people are on-site every day, which means that the contractor still has about 5,000 man-days to complete. Following the handover, our staff will take over to be ready for January 11 when the doors of the Club at Takanawa will open to Members. Remember, the current facility at Azabudai shuts for good on the night of December 25.

For the Azabudai side of events, individuals coordinating this massive move have been appointed in each of the Club’s departments, and arrangements are in place for the transfer of many of the Azabudai furnishing as well as large parts of the main kitchen.

Now posted on the Web site is the Member Welcome Booklet, which provides all the necessary details on the Takanawa facility, with specifics on the move, supplemental off-site facilities and the Takanawa area. A copy will also be mailed out to Members in the first week of December. Please have a good look and familiarize yourself with our new home away from home.

In the meantime, please feel free to e-mail us your questions or comments at 2010feedback@tac-club.org.
