The Premier International Club in Asia

Long Range Planning Committee

Representing All Members

Drawn from the Club’s Membership and representing all of its segments, the Long Range Planning Committee (LRPC) has put in thousands of volunteer hours figuring out the best way to secure the Club’s future. It was formed in 1997 after a Membership survey revealed dissatisfaction with elements of the Club, including limited parking, inadequate family facilities and an awkward mix of casual and formal spaces.

In making recommendations on how to move forward, the roughly 20 committee members chose from many options, including renovating the existing building, moving to a new site and conducting redevelopment while still occupying the existing site.

It came up with the plan to rebuild in Azabudai while relocating temporarily in Takanawa after working closely with the Club’s Finance Committee and management. It also assimilated the opinions of Club Membership as well as advice from highly qualified, independent financial, legal, architectural and real estate development experts.

The members of this committee have given generously of their time and talents. They represent the best of the Club’s spirit of service.

In July 2006, the Board of Governors created the Redevelopment Project Committee, which is now responsible to the Board for the overall project. This committee consists of the chairs of the LRPC, the House Committee, the Finance Committee, the Recreation Committee, the Food and Beverage Committee and the Architectural Advisory Group, and the Club president.
