A Retreat in the Heart of Town

Culture

The Club at Takanawa puts you well within range of temples, museums and art galleries.

All Japanese know Sengaku Temple, the sacred site holding the graves of the famous 47 ronin samurai and their lord, while the Tozen Temple is a tree-lined oasis of calm.

Museum buffs will enjoy the Hara Museum, one of the best places in Tokyo to see cutting-edge, contemporary art. You can learn about tea ceremony history at the Hatakeyama Memorial Museum or picnic in the French and Japanese gardens of the Teien Museum, housed in Tokyo’s last art deco building. Those interested in learning about Shinagawa’s history should head to the Shinagawa Historical Museum.
