A Retreat in the Heart of Town

Shopping

Shopping opportunities are plentiful in and around Takanawa thanks to redevelopment that has made the larger area of Shinagawa one of the fastest growing business districts in Tokyo.

Not far from the tracks of Shinagawa Station, the Dean & Deluca delicatessen offers hard-to-find American specialties in a New York-style store. Also nearby is Queen’s Isetan luxury food supermarket, specializing in high-quality fruit, fish, meat, baked goods and deli items.

When it comes to apparel and other items, the multitude of fashionable clothing stores in the Gate City Osaki area enjoy a setting nice enough to be used as a backdrop for TV programs and magazine shoots. At the other end of the spectrum, those looking for bargains can find them at the Shinagawa Intercity Flea Market just on the other side of Shinagawa Station.
